Dolomites Elopement in Sud Tyrol
It took many twists & turns in order for Alex & Greg’s Dolomites elopement to happen. First, a global pandemic (thank you COVID) and second, an entirely new wedding plan.
When Alex & Greg first reached out to us, they were excited to be planning their elopement at Mt. Baker’s Artist Point – one of Washington’s most scenic viewpoints. Travel quickly became difficult and their elopement was postponed for another year (although they did officially tie the knot in Greg’s parents backyard that year)! Having to wait an extra year gave Alex & Greg the time to plan something really epic – an elopement in the Italian Dolomites.
Alex & Greg’s day was simple, laid-back and filled with beautiful nature scapes that we’ll never forget. They were joined by just their parents and siblings. Greg’s sister Melanie led their ceremony in a meadow filled with wildflowers. They enjoyed a picnic on the rooftop of the Hotel Kolfuschgerhof, overlooking the Val Gardena Pass mountain peaks. The night ended with an intimate, private dinner in the wine cellar of their hotel. Their families shared informal toasts that felt more like heartfelt conversations amongst them.
The Dolomites are in incredible region if you’re looking for a beautiful backdrop for your wedding. They are home to some of the most breathtaking peaks in the world. Many of the sites are accessible by gondola but can also be hiked. This area of Italy has a massive German influence and is really a perfect blend of the two cultures. Italy & Germany combined into a truly blissful place.
