Gig Harbor Wedding on Film

Sorelle & Udenze’s wedding this summer on Gig Harbor was such a beautiful celebration of love, culture and family. Sorelle & Udenze met in elementary school and were childhood friends who hung out at each other’s houses when they were little. Udenze’s mom made a speech at the rehearsal dinner stating that she could tell early on that Sorelle wanted to be near Udenze – and that never stopped.

Their ceremony took place at a beautiful private property right on the water in Gig Harbor. Sorelle and her family worked tirelessly to prepare the space to host over 200 guests. Seohee from Studio Batte created a beautiful curved aisle that meandered through the yard creating an asymmetrical setup that made photographing this ceremony a lot of fun.

For the reception – their guests headed over to Historic 1625 in Tacoma. After dinner & toasts, Sorelle, Udenze and their families made a grand entrance into the dancing space in beautiful, ornate Nigerian formal wear to honor Udenze’s Nigerian background. Sorelle & Udenze made sure to hire a DJ (DJ Blast) who had a keen knowledge of Nigerian/AfroBeat music. The day ended with so much energy & color. It was the best way to round out such a festive day.
