Crystal Sky Camp Wedding on 16mm

Peter & Erin’s wedding at Crystal Mountain Sky Camp (shot on Super 8mm + 16mm) was an absolute visual treat. From Crystal Mountain, you get sweeping views of Mount Rainier, which I’m willing to argue are even more impressive than the views from Rainier itself. It’s an incredibly immersive experience for guests as the Sky Camp features the UnderCanvas glamping tents, which were such a beautiful backdrop for so many of the shots we got on wedding day and such a fun experience for their wedding guests. From the Crystal Sky Camp you can take a ski lift up to Chair 7 – the highest point on Crystal Mountain – guests can also do this during the day to enjoy the views from the top. Peter & Erin took the ski lift separately to do their first look at Chair 7 and it made for some incredibly sweet moments – there’s nothing like being on a ski lift in a full wedding gown.

UnderCanvas has many other locations, all of which make incredible wedding venues since they are often in National & State parks throughout the United States. They are a really great way to immerse your guests in a weekend-long wedding celebration. They are temporary camps so the locations are always changing. Check out their site to see their locations for the 2023 season! Documenting these incredible visual landscapes on Super 8mm & 16mm film is truly the way to go – there’s really nothing like it.
