botanical garden portraits in Switzerland
A DAY IN BERN, SWITZERLAND
Jeromine and I connected over Instagram when John and I were preparing for our trip to Switzerland. We had planned to go visit my family in France and the cheapest flights we could find into Europe were through Zurich (ironic considering how DANG expensive Switzerland is)! So we decided, hey, why not, let’s explore the area (little did I know, John was planning on proprosing to me on that very trip)! Jeromine and her boyfriend Gaitan live in Bern which was about an hour away from where we were staying in Interlaken. We hopped in the car and met Jeromine and Gaitan at their adorable apartment where they made us homemade, authentic Swiss fondue. It was UNREAL. You haven’t lived until you’ve had real fondue. It was such a treat. Once our bellies were filled with bread and cheese, we made our way to the Botanischer Garten or Botanical Gardens! Everything about it was glorious; the light, the sun, the greenery and the plants. It’s really hard to think of a better backdrop. AND YET!! It was about to get even better. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the Old Town of Bern and ended the day with the most gorgeous sunset at the Rosengarten, which boasts an incredible view of the city. Make sure you scroll through the whole post to catch that insane sunset & view!
