Snezhana & Serge’s Pioneer Square engagement session perfectly describes why I love doing shoots in the city. Pioneer Square is one of my favorite neighborhoods to photograph in because it is one of the oldest districts in Seattle. With all of the new construction in the city, it’s easy to forget that Seattle has such a beautiful historic district with old buildings, small, hidden alleyways and so many fun walls. For Snezhana & Serge’s engagement session, we visited King Street Train Station (read up on its history here), Court in the Square (a great place for an intimate downtown wedding) and Occidental Square (probably the most recognizable area of Pioneer Square)! I am a big fan of engagement sessions with multiple locations! I always find that couples are able to relax more when there is time to walk from place to place and enjoy the process of exploring the city.
If you’re stuck on where to go for your engagement session, don’t overthink it! I think too many couples place importance on where they take their photos. It can really be as simple as walking around the city and popping into pretty places! At the end of the day, your photographer will creative beautiful work wherever you take them!
