CITY PORTRAITS IN DOWNTOWN SEATTLE
It felt so good to get these city portraits out of my system – we haven’t been spending as much time in downtown Seattle since the pandemic started and I’d really been missing the energy of the city. We live in a quiet part of town so sometimes downtown feels like being in a completely different city.
I photographed Amber & Ethan’s wedding over 4 years ago now (!!!) and have missed them behind my camera ever since. We decided that their four year anniversary would be the perfect time to renew their wedding portraits. Our style and editing has evolved so much in the last four years so it’s really fulfilling to get to re-photograph couples from our past weddings. For these portraits, we went for something completely different than what they did on their wedding day – a short yet modern dress, a medium length veil and a small, minimal bouquet put together by Budding Romance Floral Company.
It was a quiet weekday evening in Seattle so we took advantage and visited multiple downtown locations. We visited some of our favorite spots in Seattle – some rooftops in Belltown, the Sinking Ship parking garage (one of the coolest structures in the city, in my humble opinion) and the neon lights at night in Pioneer Square, Seattle’s historic neighborhood. Our vision for a beautiful sunset and some glittery city lights came to life and it was blissful! It’s not often that we get to shoot at night so this was so much fun. We’re so grateful to have a job where we create longterm relationships with our couples and get to continue making work with them beyond their wedding day!
